SUMMARY

Translate internal and/or external customers quality expectations into factors that can be measured and integrate quality initiatives into projects throughout the life cycle of the product. Assure the Quality of processes and products by consistently promoting continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Function as the voice of the company regarding quality issues and to represent the company to the customers and suppliers.

·Develop and maintain the quality engineering databases.

·Develop, revise, and maintain Quality documentation as necessary.

·Facilitate the qualification of new equipment and fixtures prior to their release into production.

·Facilitate and participate in the Continuous Improvement efforts utilizing Quality Tools.

·Facilitate and participate in the Corrective Action process, the MRB (Material Review Board) process, the First Article process, Part Certification process, and the Business System Auditing process.

·Oversee and direct the activities of Quality Inspectors as assigned to achieve quality objectives.

·Assist/ drive Advanced Quality Planning for New Products from Development to Ramp-up, and conduct/ direct Measurement Systems Analysis, as required.

·Monitor and react to excessive COQ and Low Efficiency Production Situations.

·Assist Departments with Quality System and Product Quality related issues and coordinate the Quality effort.

·Conduct failure analysis of components in production or returned by the customer as required.

·Create reports for internal and external distribution.

·Perform Supplier Certification audits, internal audits and any required customer audits.

·Analyze manufacturing data and facilitate problem-solving teams when needed.

·Develop working relationships with assigned customers and team members.

·Assist Quality Techs in maintaining/improving the calibration system.

·Establish and maintain accurate, up-to-date computer databases for SPC, PPM, FMEA, SCAR, CAR, PPAP's etc.

·Assist and conduct measurement technique training as required.

REQUIREMENTS

·Knowledge and experience with QS9000 and/ or ISO9001: 2000 / TS16949.

·Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

·Ability to read interprets and analyzes blueprints.

·Flowcharting ability and procedure analysis.

·Ability to use precision measuring instruments including CMM Systems.

·Advances knowledge of statistical process control.

·Strong organizational skills.

·Data analysis skills coupled with above average report writing, chart development abilities.

·Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities.

·Proficiency with Microsoft Windows based Applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).

·Technical Know-How on Investment Casting, MIM, Powder Metal Sintering, Die casting processes an advantage but not a must.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

·Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

·3 to 4 years relevant experience, including internships/co-ops

·Experience with Automotive PPAP submissions, high volume production, and Quality Certifications is an advantage, but not necessary.
