Minimum Qualifications
· University undergraduate certificate or degree (engineering is preferred).
· Good verbal and written English. Other language skills would be an asset.
· Minimum 3 years testing experience in the automotive industry. This includes the experience of writing complete test reports.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, and PowerPoint.
· "Hands-on" experience with testing equipment - instrumentation, calibration, maintenance, and assembly/teardown.
· Highly motivated self starter with strong organizational skills.
· Willing to continuously learn.
Technical Skills Requirements
· Proficient in providing technical communication in English (can present results to management in proper technical reporting structure).
· Able to understand and analyze the results of testing components at a basic level of engineering.
· Proficient in LabVIEW and Diadem.
· Able to create graphs/charts as required to present technical data.
· Good technical understanding of FPCG core products (oil pumps, MBS, vacuum pumps, water pumps).
Primary Function
· Creates test procedures and test reports.
· Supports and monitors/maintains the assigned schedule for testing work orders (test and report completion).
· Supports the technicians complete tests by clarifying test procedures and verifying the successful completion of tests.
· Provides maintenance support to technicians.
· Provides technical presentations/summaries to management and cross functional teams as required.
· Supports the compilation of data that form the Key Measurable Indices (KMIs) of the testing laboratory.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Reviews the Work Order System daily to understand assigned work and their schedules.
· Initiates/completes test procedures for unique (non standard) tests using the standard Engineering Center China procedures template and communicates work procedures to technicians before the start of testing.
· Provides test inputs for standard tests to technicians before the start of testing.
· Supports the technicians to monitor test equipment before the start of tests to identify any maintenance required.
· Checks data upon completion of tests and confirms the successful completion of tests.
· Conforms to CNAS requirements for test report formatting and presents data as defined by management and/or the instructions included in the assigned work order.
· Reviews completed reports with management and makes modifications until approval is granted.
· Prepares and provides technical presentations/summaries to cross functional teams as required.
· Responsible for maintaining the testing equipment binders, which include checklists for daily safety items and preventive maintenance.
· Responsible for supporting financial summaries by reporting daily work hours, as well as daily hours for assigned testing equipment.
· Responsible for leading maintenance/trouble-shooting when unexpected issues arise with testing equipment and creating lessons learned summaries.
· Responsible for initiating maintenance requests for issues that require support from the maintenance team.
· Responsible for initiating purchase requests for purchases required for the testing laboratory.
· Perform other duties as required by management.
