Job Description

As Mechanical Designer for the Company's project team, you will be part of the Global Projects organization. We have the responsibility to design & manufacture fixtured nutrunner systems and other such applications such as torque reaction arms and software solutions. Our customers are in China.

Mission

Your mission is to Mechanically Design & Engineer individual projects to produce high quality customer solutions utilizing Company's standards and best practices.

You will be responsible for:

The Mechanical design, (Pro-E 3D CAD), and documentation of our projects

Understanding customers mechanical specifications/protocols

Understanding working environment. (i.e., Dimensional, clearances, operator work area, production speed, contaminates, etc., etc.).

Make various calculations such as strength of materials, forces, stresses.

Designing with the best Ergonomic practices.

Designing with the best Safety practices.

Selecting and specifying the correct Company's fastening tool for the Project.

Organizing Design Reviews with Project Team.

Releasing Company's Mechanical Product and locally procured product on projects

Utilizing Company's Standard Solutions and the maintenance of these standards

Working closely with Project Engineer

Working closely with Automation Engineer

Develop suppliers to provide quality products and also follow/maintain Company's best practises

Participate and be responsible for the Internal PA.

Support Installation work during Start-Up at Customer

Archive all drawings to PDM-Link

Major responsibilities

This position is responsible for all Mechanical Engineering activities which includes:

Understanding customers specifications and expectations on a Project

Obtaining all customer product drawings

Obtaining customers work area dimensions and environment

Mechanical design of solution in 3D CAD

Producing complete mechanical BOM for project.

Candidate profile

Education

Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

The successful candidate should have experience in mechanical design.

Experience in design and manufacturing of special solutions and understanding customers needs

Experience in industrial/automotive assembly

Knowledge

Proficient in Pro-E 3D CAD software

Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and/or General Industry segments are a plus

Understanding and interest in customer applications

Ability to question the way we do things in order to find a better way.
