Experienced WordPress Specialist

Obridge Academy seeks a talented, motivated individual with a passion for online learning, educational technology, and the intelligent application of information technology to serve as the founding Experienced WordPress Specialist. The Specialist will be a hands-on professional who enjoys getting things done; but also an effective planner, strategic thinker and manager of resources.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Design and implement websites from initial concept, site architecture, and user interface to finished deliverable
2.Design and implement new features, enhancements, and content of existing websites
3.Website update and maintenance

Education and Experience:

1.Bachelor’s degree in CS or equivalent experience, Master’s degree preferred
2.Fluent in English (CET-6 required, Intermediate Interpretation preferred)
3.Minimum 3 years experience of PHP programming, MySQL, XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
4.Experience of PHP 5 and OOP beneficial
5.Extensive knowledge and experience of building WordPress CMS websites using the best practice & de-facto standard plugins
6.Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level
1).Knowledge of existing built-in Word Press functions
2).Creation of custom post types?
3).Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards
4).Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code
5).Theme/Template integration
6).Knowledge of WordPress Network (Multisite) beneficial
7.Experience creating multi-lingual websites Advantageous
8.SEO experience preferred
9.Knowledge and experience of web accessibility
10.Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues
11.Use of jQuery / AJAX an advantage
