The Position

To provide DMPK support for drug discovery projects from target assessment to clinical lead selected (CLS) and to lead efforts of investigating DMPK issues/problems of drug candidates.
Serve as an early nonclinical pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism Rep. for NCS China Projects
Represent earlier DMPK function in cross function project teams and provide nonclinical DMPK input on candidate selection
Responsible for developing overall early DMPK screening strategies for early discovery projects and managing all early DMPK activities from target assessment up to clinical candidate selection
Identify DMPK issues and communicate effectively to the team, supervisor, department head, and Head of PL&M&S
Accountable for result analysis and interpretation, trouble shooting, and protocol/report writing of DMPK studies, and provide high quality of data to the project team in timely fashion
Work with CROs and Basel DMPK colleagues in EiDDS and animal planning group to carry out DMPK studies
Perform PK data analysis and modeling and simulation using common tools, e.g. Gastro Plus and WinNonlin, and SimCYP, to meet project needs on human PK and efficacious dose prediction
Devote efforts toward evaluation of new technologies that could be applied to DMPK program
Compliance to global requirements, standards, and policies regarding SHE and data storage in secured drives/folders

Education/Qualifications
•Ph.D. or equivalent Ph.D. degree in pharmacology, drug metabolism, or pharmacokinetics with 4-5 year’s industry experience and comfortable to work in a bilingual environment: English and Chinese

•Self-motivated and capable of setting up new method/technology from scratch;
•Ability to work effectively across functional disciplines internally and with external collaborators, such as global colleagues, CROs, universities, research institutes;
•Good English communication and presentation skills.
•Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities.

Job Required Competencies
•2-3 project Rep. Experience in drug discovery and development.
•Solid knowledge on DMPK with strong expertise in drug metabolism, and hands-on experiences on M&S
• Very familiar with common DMPK assays and early DMPK compound screening strategies
•Capable to identify assay and DMPK, and metabolism issues and proactively solve the issues with minimum guidance and help
•Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members and colleagues at Basel
