Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Single Point of Contact for APA Region Transmission quality systems and performance
Drive standardized current model quality disciplines across the JV transmission plants in China
Drive transmission contribution to vehicle line quality to achieve APA Quality Business Plan Targets
Coordinate with other regions and functions to proactively understand top issues and resolve
Position is responsible to deliver compliance to base quality systems and improvement initiatives, corporate keys areas of focus, and key quality warranty metrics
Support and Enforce Launch Quality Operating Systems
Support Plant efforts to identify and resolve internal quality processes
Collaborate with Global Mfg Powertrain Quality Office to develop, optimize, and represent APA region in all quality strategies and processes
Candidate Specification:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Minimum 10 years experience in Transmission Mfg Operations or Design & Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Systems and Processes Transmission function
Quality Operating Systems
Supply Base Management
6-Sigma Problem Solving Methodology
Measuring and Test Equipment
Heat treat and Welding
Fastening processes
Mfg Operations experience in high volume machining and assembly
Quality system management and auditing
ISO/TS Standards
FMEA, Control planning, SPC, PPAP, MSA, 8D, APQP,
English Language Skills at a technical level
Computer skills (Windows Office, Minitab, etc....)
Ability to lead, influence, and coach in a large x-functional corporation
Need to communicate clearly, efficiently, and effectively
Job will require moderate travel within China and occasional international

Manufacturing technology is another major focus of REC, with our researchers and engineers designing systems, processes, components and state-of-the-art technology into all our vehicles in APA. In addition, as home for Ford’s China Purchasing Office, REC purchasing buyers and engineers manage supplier relationships, set manufacturing strategies, and collaborate with key suppliers on developing new technologies.
REC currently employs more than 1,000 talented Chinese and international staff. In early 2012, the REC facility doubled its capacity with the opening of a second REC engineering building.
