Principal Responsibilities/Duties

1. Perform comprehensive physicochemical and/or solid state property characterization of new molecular entities (NMEs) to evaluate the drug like properties and develop-ability. Identify critical physicochemical liabilities and hot spots that may impact on development.
2. Perform comprehensive polymorph/salt/cocrystal screening for new molecular entities to identify stable polymorph/appropriate salt/cocrystal for further development.
3. Assist analytical support to formulation for drug product.
4. Assist analytical support to process chemistry for drug substance.
5. Responsible for drafting study reports for preformulation study.
6. Other related duties may be assigned to meet team and site objectives.

Qualification/Requirement

1.M.S. degree in pharmaceutical science/pharmaceutical analysis (or closely related field), plus minimum 2 years working experience in pharmaceutical industry.
2.Solid knowledge on the state-of-the-art preformulation theories and technologies, and hands-on experience in operating, calibrating, maintaining and troubleshooting of a wide range of analytical instruments (Microscope, DVS, XRPD, HPLC, GC, IR, UV, DSC, TGA, Dissolution etc).
3.Demonstrated knowledge and experience for preformulation research, which include solid state characterization, physicochemical property profiling, polymorph/salt screening, excipient compatibility, etc.
4.Be able to perform the preformulation studies under minor instruction or fully independently.
5.Have problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
6.Knowledge and hands-on experience in analytics of process research/formulation would be a plus.
7.Knowledge and hands-on experience in GMP/GLP would be a plus.
8.Must be proactive and self-motivated.
9.Fluent English reading is necessary. Written English should be good enough for daily communication and document drafting. Fluent spoken English would be a plus.
