Responsibilities:

1. To contribute to design reviews of existing products in line with objectives to assure on time delivery.
2. To continuously identify and deliver process improvements in existing processes through the elimination of waste and application of Lean methodologies.
3. To contribute mechanical technical input to support production process.
4. To support delivery of the Operations strategy through:
5. Proactive support to production, including investigation and resolution of operational problems & concerns.
6. Contribution to, and provision of, Standardised Work documentation for all manufacturing processes through all Company databases including BaaN ERP
7. Determination and maintenance of accurate production times for every process required to support the production schedule
8. Impact analysis on production process and documentation in response to engineering change from the Design Authority, obsolete material or customer requirement change.
9. Manage mechanical non-conformance reports within BaaN ERP, liaising directly with the Design Authority as required to provide timely technical solutions to support production.
10. Lead improvement initiatives as directed by the Technical Manager.
11. Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) investigations, and where appropriate lead the implementation of solutions as directed by the Technical Manager.
12. Contribute to Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and where appropriate lead implementation of solutions as directed by the Technical Manager.

Requirements:
1. Significant relevant experience engineering environment or Degree with experience in mechanical engineering or production engineering
2. CEng / IEng or national equivalent - desirable
3. Contribution to Improvement processes with personal experience of delivering Lean methodologies
4. Proven track record in effective application of problem solving techniques, including root cause analysis and PFMEA desirable.
5. Significant experience of design, testing and production of large rotating machinery.
6. Significant knowledge of bearing design, vibration, torsional and noise analysis.
7. Significant experience of material composition, performance, fabrication and welding with the ability to provide technical guidance for the production process.
8. Computer literate, specifically: Word, Excel, 2D/3D CAD or similar design software.
