Specification:
1.University degree majored in Electrical engineering,
2.Rotating machines/Plant/HV/power experience,
3.High voltage operation certificate,
4.Experience with Control systems, test instrument and DAQ systems commissioning (Labview)/programming would be advantageous,
5.Must be vigilant and show integrity at all times towards the collection and presentation of electrical and mechanical test data,
6.Good communication and IT skills,
7.Quick learner,
8.Be flexible and good problem solving skills,
Responsibilities:
1.Electrical testing of high voltage generators and components in accordance with the process specification,
2.Routine off load switching and connection/manipulation of AC/DC distribution systems,
3.Responsible for operation of motor/generator sets, including synchronisation to the grid when deemed competent,
4.Testing of generator control equipment and generation/completion of associated documentation,
5.Balancing of wound rotor/armature assemblies,
6.Electrical heating of windings during manufacture,
7.Preparation and wiring of generators/components for testing in accordance with Process Specification,
8.Complete and maintain Test Record sheets,
9.Ensuring all test equipment is in calibration,
10.Performing final inspection on product before dispatch,
11.Required to liaise with internal/external stakeholders, which may include external customers witnessing tests,
12.Assure compliance of components to drawing, design specification, mechanical and/or electrical test acceptance criteria through test or calculation,
13.Raise non-conformance record for all non compliant components, including any required sign off,
14.Electrical fault finding/investigations as required by design or production,
15.Responsible for training and support for Apprentices and other members of the team as required,
16.Support risk assessments and safe working procedures within department,
17.Support with regards to assessment and requirement in the purchase of new or replacement equipment using areas of expertise,
18.Proactively support all departmental activities and improvement opportunities,
19.Other tasks may be assigned by manager.
