Responsibilities
· Lead the creation, evolution and day to day running of the engineering department, delivering the technical

data, engineering drawings, files and programs to facilitate production.
· Build a worldclass team through culture and philosophy to deliver RTC a capable, problem solving and accurate engineering capability.
· Build relationships and common approaches and pratices with RTC's global Enginnering teams.
· Create and instill process and practices,
· Manage pro-actively and with strong commercial acumen the plant's budget, expenses and resources.
· Create and implement strategies to deliver engineering excellence.
· Develop a thorough knowledge of all RTC policies, processes and business objectives.
· Identify employee training requirements and ensure that it is scheduled and successfully completed to maintain compliance and safety standards.
· Instill a culture of Continuous Improvement and cost savings.
· Prepare management reporting as required.
· Perform other duties as assigned.

Characteristics
· A collaborative leader with a proven record in creating and leading a world class engineering team, working closely with customers, vendors, and other RTC departments and international offices.
· Experianced with the operations of a continuous and custom manufacturing environment.
· Should have a strong technical background, business management skills, and the ability to motivate, lead, and direct operations and growth in the engineering departments.
· Familiar with the use of SolidWorks for CAD engineering and have a robust undrrstanding of CAM programming.
· Must possess PC skills, with knowledge of spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs. ERP BOM

creation and engineering document integrity a must.
· Excellent communication as well as listening and presentation skills.
· Should possess ten to fifteen years of increasingly complex experience of creatively applying an understanding of physical properties and systems to new product development and ongoing continuous improvement practices.
· Have an expert understanding of manufacturing processes, materials and efficiencies around discrete and small batch manufacturing.
· A creative thinker who can quickly respond to changing requirements.
· Strategic and able to invoke change and innovation in a dynamic custom manufacturing business environment
· Commercially minded with creative problem solving skills
· The ability to develop and manage positive business relationships, including with regulatory authorities and

suppliers.
· The personal initiative to take ownership of tasks and achieve objectives.
· Willing to share expertise with others but also listen and learn from others

Qualification/Requirements
·Minimum 15 years experience at factory manager level leading a manufacturing plant in wood and metal

manufacturing in Asia.
· Customer focused with international experience, ideally living in China
· Excellent English communication (spoken and written). Mandarin desirable but not essential
·Strong leadership and man management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization in a multi-cultural environment
·Strong financial, mathematical and analytical skills.
· Team player, strong interpersonal skills and self-motivated.
· Self-starter able to work under own initiative.
· Solid computer skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office, Excel, PPT, particularly has ERP experiences. · Knowledge of provincial environmental and labour regulations.
