Our client is a market leader in the field of coating. They are looking for an AP R&D Director, who will be the Global R&D Director’s successor.
Responsibility:
1. Responsible for leading the Asia technical groups for coatings development in Asia with a team of approximately 50 researchers.
2. Responsible for developing and executing a plan to support business growth through technology platforms along with future product platform improvements to meet upcoming business requirements.
3. Ensures the capability / infrastructure are sufficient to meet plan requirements, makes recommendations, drives continuous improvement and change.
4. Proactively influences other departments within Global on the necessary processes and procedures related to the success of the business unit relative to technology issues.
5. Supervises staff to include hiring, training, managing and evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, career development and administering disciplinary action if necessary.
Desired Skills and Experience
1. Master Degree, with major in chemical or relative.
2. Minimum of five years management experience.
3. R&D experience in coating industry is a must.
4. Excellent written and oral English.
5. Strategic thinking, creative problem solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
