职位描述
This    section focuses on the main purpose of the job in 2 – 4 sentences
 –  Product Category Manager    is a result driven leader to define the portfolio strategy for an assigned    Product Category that will provide our customers the most attractive and    profitable product offering in the industry   
 –  This position will lead a    team of 6 to10 employees consisting of (Associate) Product Managers,  (Associate) Product Management Specialist and Product Information    Specialist              
- Product Category Manager will lead the team to execute the strategy through supplier management and product line execution while achieving year over year improvement in both revenue and profit
 Product Portfolio: 
 –  Design a product line    structure that maximizes gross profit dollars and customer relevance  Determine the role for private labels vs  national branded products, the breadth and    depth of the offering and the numbers of price tiers, all to best drive    top-line sales growth while maximizing profitability and asset utilization 
 –  Define the portfolio    strategy across Grainger China and customer segments 
 –  Determine the pricing    strategy that supports the desired line structure, including identification    of primary competitors    and relative positioning of those competitors 
 –   Develop tactics in the    product line strategy that will increase purchasing scale and leverage among    suppliers for Grainger’s business  Successfully lead the team to drive these    tactics and manage the cost structure of the portfolio 
 –   Collaborate with sales and    marketing organization to ensure that the relevant strategies related to    business issues or target customer segments are supported by the product    portfolio 
 –   Partner with product    management teams    from Grainger’s international business to create additional purchasing scale    and leverage for assigned category 
 –  Work with appropriate    Supply Chain partners to ensure the team members are executing product line    activity in a manner that enhances the company’s inventory/ logistics    objectives
–    Continually monitor the    financial performance of the overall product category to ensure there is    constant feedback    into success of the product line strategy and execution 
Team Leadership: 
 –  Direct, review and approve    portfolio strategies that are developed by team members for product    subcategories review to ensure agreement with strategies developed for the    larger category and high overall quality of the strategic development 
 –   Develop the skills and    professional experiences of team members to drive talent development and    improve the performance of the team  Coaching and development of negotiation    skills for members of the team is an important element of talent development    for the Product Category Manager Collect input on the portfolio strategy from the team  and incorporate feedback into the portfolio strategy
