Fiberguide Industries is a key revenue generator for Halma in China. As a Development / Applications Engineer for Fiberguide China this candidate will have the ability to directly impact the success of the company. This position offers ability to work for a the nimble company while enjoying being part of the larger Halma group and the developmental opportunities that this provides.


General Description:

The Development/Applications Engineer will have a high visibility, high impact role developing new optics-based products targeted for the China market. This role will require a broad range of skills ranging from excellent communications for interacting with customers, to detailed design, product testing, and process development.

Responsibilities

1. Working in conjunction with Fiberguide’s U.S.-based development team, and with our China Sales and Manufacturing Teams, this Engineer will initially develop optical fiber assemblies, cables and other products for use in the medical laser delivery markets. Travel to US to interact with US team is expected.

2. This Engineer will interface regularly with customers to assess, understand, and to formulate all key technical requirements. Travel to customers within China is expected though should not exceed about 25%.

3. This Engineer will work with manufacturing to ensure designs are manufacturable and appropriate test procedures are in place.

Qualifications

Educations: BS/ MS in Engineering, Physics, Optics, or equivalent

CAD Experience: Autocad Inventor

Work Experience: 3~5 years in similar development role associated with laser delivery, optics, and/or opto-mechanical design.

This person will report the General Manager for Fiberguide China but will be interact on a regular basis with the engineering groups in the US and must have good fluency in English.
