Key Accountabilities:
In addition to following Group’s policies and procedures, key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial & Managerial Accounting (40%)
To manage month end closing accordingly to group timetable, and ensure all entries of China business properly booked, and review TB to ensure all wrong/missing bookings are fixed before the books are closed
To finalize the books and prepare the monthly statutory financial accounts for tax reporting, as well internal Management Accounts to be submitted to HQs
To manage and ensure proper records of accounting & company files
To conduct regular balance sheet review and clean up outstanding accounting issues and abnormal account balances, and coordinate other teams to improve related accounting processes
To manage annual tax audit and submit required materials after internal review and approval, and follow up the audit issues
To handle sales audit & sales accounting functions for China affiliate companies in due course
To supervise the treasury function
To support company investment projects evaluation from finance & legal points of view, and provide justifications & recommendations to ensure project feasibility
To duly support China business development on a project basis to ensure adequate finance support and facilities ready for new stores open

Administration, Internal Controls & System Enhancements (20%)
To act as a finance coordinator to support China business development
To maintain good relationships with legal/tax agents, and various banks for obtaining external party services at reasonable levels
To ensure adequate controls exerted on operational activities and transactions
To provide suggestions in streamlining workflow and processes
To identify ways to improve productivities and efficiencies of book keeping & reporting functions
To search for new or enhanced reporting tools by studying existing systems, like Data Warehouse, RMS, Oracle, and Discovery

Compliance and Business Integrity (15%)
To ensure that all financial practices are sound and in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and prevailing legislation as well as company guidelines, policies and procedures
To coordinate with other divisions / departments on strengthening internal control systems
To ensure that people understand and are complying with the procedures and processes

Team Leadership (25%)
To define the team goals and initiatives to achieve the goals in line with department goals, and develop the work plan accordingly
To suggest work allocation / rotation plan of the team to immediate supervisor
To demonstrate and reinforce the company Vision and Values at all times and provide the necessary leadership to gain commitment from the team
To identify and execute ways to increase team members’ loyalty, satisfaction and pride with the company
To build strong internal communications and facilitate an open working relationship amongst all departments and HK counterpart to ensure that the company has full support to meet and exceed the sales and profit targets
To reinforce the company message to the team and reinforce the need to drive profitability through value added activities and better efficiencies
To provide on the job coaching to ensure that the finance team are able to meet and exceed the requirements of their role
To identify and facilitate opportunities for additional training for the team
To monitor and review performance of team, identifying individuals who are ready for promotion or require performance improvement plans
To take appropriate corrective action with team members who fall below standard (in consultation with HR Department)
To complete and present performance appraisals based on defined goals and objectives for their employees in a timely manner
To recognize, reward and celebrate success with the team, stores and other functions
