URBN Hotel opened in 2008 spring, 2,300 m² with 26 guest rooms including 5 room types. URBN Hotel was conceived by the desire to create destinations of comfort, style and interest across China. URBN Hotel aims to help create unique experiences that connect its guests to Shanghai's vibrant history and culture, all while maintaining a minimal amount of impact on the environment.


URBN Hotel is set in the heart of the city, within a hub of local activity and close to shops, restaurants and Shanghai’s famous French concession area. URBN Hotel is also China’s first carbon-neutral hotel. It is a sustainable project developed from a renovated factory warehouse. The interiors are made with 100% local materials and recycled wood from old houses, reclaimed bricks and walls stacked with vintage suitcase – made in Shanghai, of course.


On June 1st 2013, Interstate China began management of the URBN Hotel.
