Job Title: Regional Sales Manager | Reporting to: National Sales Director |
Department: Sales Department | Direct Reports: Nil |
Position Purpose:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible to achieve assigned geographic territory or market sales and profit goals through the effective management of sales channels (direct and indirect). Additionally, the Regional Sales Manager provides input and assistance to the marketing and customer service team in the development and execution of agreed marketing plans.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sales Management
1) Ensures regional sales and profit goals are achieved through the effective placement and motivation of sales representative (direct and indirect field sales teams )
2) Prepares regular sales forecasts
3) Assesses data provided by sales representatives, implements regional sales strategies, identifies business opportunities and pinpoints problem areas
4) Assesses relevant marketing mix (product – price), sales training needs and the need for support in staffing and coordination of executions
5) Directs the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including orders, billings, contracts, etc and evaluates data to ensure regional goals are met
- Marketing Management
1) Provides input to Marketing for the creation of proper marketing material (promotional literature, website content, …) and marketing actions (trade shows, …) to support the sales process and the BAC brand in the relevant market segments
2) Gathers information from the field, along with personal research, to help identify current market trends, competitive activity and general business conditions – communicates this information to all involved parties
3) Personally leads BAC’s involvement in various national and geographic trade associations for the promotion and preservation of the company’s interest in the cooling industry
4) Develops and executes specific market research initiatives agreed to by higher management such as country reports and competitive landscape reports with the aim to grow sales income and/or maximize the sales channel efficiency in specific areas
- Communication / Coordination
1) Liaises with the Engineering, Marketing & Customer Service team to accelerate new sales and customer satisfaction
2) Is responsible for the direct communication with Key accounts supply chain management personnel as it relates to special projects, conflict resolution and BAC contractual obligations
Performance Indicators
- The Regional Sales Manager has no people reporting to him/her but is on the other hand responsible for sales performance of BAC representatives in the assigned region– this person is responsible for approving special sales levels with guidance from the Sales Director – the Regional Sales Manager provides corporate support in issues between the buyer and the sales teams to closes sales at profitable levels while limiting financial risk
- Certain grants of authority are assigned to this function – Manages his/her own budget and has full pricing responsibility within his/her grants of authority
- Regular contacts in the job are necessary with different stakeholders:
1) All internal departments and staff
2) Direct contact with customers at all levels from staff to lower level representatives
3) Members through trade associations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Required Attributes,
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with 5 years of experience in a similar function in a technical or commercial role within an international manufacturing industry
- Solid sales or marketing experience in HVAC industries with proven track records of grow business in ideal
- Is commercially aware and can perform negotiations on different levels thanks to a previous sales experience
- Shows the ability and interest to understand the industrial markets and to perform competitor analyses
- Fluent English and Mandarin are required.
- Works very customer oriented: has good listening skills and a strong problem-solving mindset
- Can captivate and convince an audience thanks to excellent communicative and presentation skills
- Is a self-motivated and independent working person but also likes to be part of a team and provide support to colleagues
- The willingness to travel frequently
- Ethical, integrity and in line with FCPA regulations
