PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To design, develop, document, and implement ethernet magnetics design into production products that meet or exceed customer expectations. This applies to new products as well as modifications and extensions to existing products.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Given a performance specification, be able to design & develop a winding that meets or exceeds the specification, fits within the mechanical envelop, and is cost effective.
2. Verify electrical product performance by performing engineering tests.
3. Design for cost – optimize winding design to simplify design for ease of manufacture and reduced total cost.
4. Create SI test report for the new winding concept to present its electrical performance.
5. Create winding specification documentation and development of manufacturing test requirements.
6. Assist in development of manufacturing strategy through:
a. Vendor selection
b. Component selection
c. Manufacturing technologies
7. Assist manufacturing and team in failure analysis.
8. Interface with customer support engineers to ensure design objectives are defined and met in a timely manner and assist with engineering samples and technical implementation advice.
9. Drive design reviews with manufacturing, suppliers, and product design engineers
10. Prepare and follow engineering change requests (ECR) per document control procedures.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION
Required: bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering)
Preferred: electrical engineering

WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Required: 5+ years magnetic winding design experience for ethernet RJ jack.
Knowledge of manufacturing methods for ethernet magnetics
Understanding of component tolerances on product performance
Preferred: 8+ years magnetics design experience
Design experience in the following areas: ethernet magnetics design &
implementation, automated winding, core selection, and wire selection,
Optimization of winding to meet electrical performance criteria

SKILLS:
Required: 1. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely
2. Extensive SI knowledge and skilled to use at least one tool for SI data analysis
3. Good English in writing and reading
Preferred: 1. Good English in listening and speaking
2. Be familiar with RJ jack application in ethernet field
3. Previous experience with working in a team environment where the focus is on the larger organizational goal versus individual concerns
4. Willingness to work as part of a global team
5. Experience in failure analysis and root cause analysis techniques such as 8D & 7 step process

OTHER: Some travel may be required, as necessary
