Key areas of accountability/responsibility

Projects are prepared and implemented so as to meet the requirements. This will involve:

• Sets up project plans and alternatives focused on the technical realization of the project assignment
• Performs engineering work as part of their own projects, or added as an engineer on other projects.
• Securing management aspects from development to completion of projects within the field.
• Is the project manager if projects are effective within his expertise.
• Uses internal and external engineering capacity.
• Coordinates and sets the project descriptions.
• Reports the progress of work requests / orders.
• Participates in HAZOP studies.
• Provides information and documents for validation, installation management and maintenance.
• Consults with customer representative on project size and quality.
• Requests for proposals and assesses the proposals.
• Responsible for outsourcing work and coordinating it.
• Assesses external engineers.
• Monitors quality of work performed by engineering contractors.
• Maintains contacts with regulators and suppliers.
• Takes decisions with regard to approval or rejection of equipment asked by DSM inspectors.

Projects of third-parties are supported and after completion taken into maintenance with the correct connection with the existing installation and proper transfer to the Maintenance Group. This will involve:

• Gives a contribution to program requirements.
• Provides information to the project team.
• Sets up the budget for the support and implementation of the Maintenance Group.
• Responsible for filing documents of projects for the installation and maintenance management and updates these files.
• Decides whether documentation complies with the SOP’s.
• Advises on approach and realization of these projects.
• Coordinates questions and consults with the Maintenance Group.
• Provides support during implementation, testing and commissioning phase.

Feasibility studies and recommendations are made in such a way that there is a clear picture on feasibility. This involves:

• Advises and reports on the most secure and efficient approach and construction of installations and buildings.
• Ensures the preparation of basic designs, estimations, budgets and equipment specifications.
• Advises on disturbances and maintenance issues.
• Provides input for preparing URS and to the attention of PAC / PAE-values ??at points of environment, safety, operations and efficiency.
• Requests for quotes.

Process computer systems are validated and together with archives and installation files administered in such a way that proper operation and maintenance of documentation is secured.

This involves:

• Ensuring the continuity and integrity of process computer systems.
• Is responsible for standardization of methods, process design and management of computer systems.
• Provides up to date details of the design, installation files and archives.
• Provides information on existing facilities for maintenance and projects.
• Provides auditors (external and internal) a clear picture of the validated state of process computer systems.
• Provides training for maintenance and production staff.
• Manages the installation and gives out tagnumbers.
• Provides access to process computer systems.
• Has access to files.
• Is allowed to change documentation regarding process control systems.
• May perform modifications in process computer systems.

Technical problems with software disturbances in production are / have been resolved in such a way that disruption of the production is minimal.

This involves:

• Gives support, on request, to the implementation, mainly second line disorders.
• Performs engineering work for urgent modifications.
• Provides solid (emergency-) solutions.
• Orders (spare) parts.
• Bring in external suppliers if necessary.
• Provides systematic improvements to avoid repetition of the disturbance.

Provides (also) the effective functioning of the maintenance team in order to achieve team goals.

This involves:

• Provides a good work and team transfer.
• Sets (also) the planning.
• Initiates substantial improvements in the working environment of the team, makes suggestions for improvement.
• Reports not directly soluble "defects / problems" within the team.
• Actively participates in team meetings, discusses the cooperation and the results to achieve.

Knowledge and educational level

Bachelor degree in chemical engineering and skilled with Good Automation Manufacturing Practices

Required level of experiences, including functional competences related to the job

Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) as process technologist or process engineer in the management of Process Computer Systems of a production facility. Expert on Delta V and familiar with PLC control systems.
