The Position
CRH China is currently recruiting for Cement Quality Op Ex Engineer to support the CRH China Operational Excellence team which is based in Yatai Building Material in Changchun. This role will work closely with the team that is already in place, but will initially report directly to a member of the Senior Management team in order to assist in the establishment of a new Cement Quality Operational Excellence programme.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
This role will carry out the following duties:
? The preparation and implementation of a Cement Quality Operational Excellence (CQ Op Ex) program within the Yatai Building Materials business in China
? Preparation of Benchmarking reports
? Development of CQ Op Ex performance reporting systems
? Assisting with training of operations personnel in the use of these product improvement and reporting systems

Other Duties may include some or all of the following:
? On site assignments at cement plants as part of training and development
? Assisting senior engineers and manager with projects or process improvement assignments
? Carrying out task based assignments, which may include troubleshooting to resolve manufacturing problems and implementation of improvement programs covering process, quality, raw materials and environmental, as well as assistance in the preparation and maintenance of documented manuals/processes.
? Subject to progress may be given a role in project startups / commissioning when new equipment is introduced and new projects or plant modifications are brought on line
? May be asked to carry out plant trials in relation to the process or production improvement projects and be expected to prepare process documentation and new/revised operating and safety manuals

Candidate Profile
The ideal candiate will fulfill the following requirements:

Education
? Bachelor degree in Chemical or Process Engineering, Material Science
Work Experience
? 5 years + relevant Engineering experience
? Practical knowledge and experience in the process steps of turning clinker into a range of cement products
? Cement Quality Control and Assurance
? Knowledge in the chemical / physical testing laboratory practices in China
? Cement to concrete performance spectrum
? Good standard of English
Location
? This position will be based in Northeast China – requiring travel in Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning Province or other parts of China on assignments.
