POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

This person is expected to manage the day to day activities of a Product Development team. This team is to help transform learn to internet scale and high availability.

The Senior Manager of Product Development will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically s/he will be responsible to:

Bring a deep understanding of software development in a team, and a proven track record of shipping software on time
Be a very strong leader, mentor, recruiter, and people manager
Provide timely and transparent written status reports that highlight both successes and challenges.
Nurtures a collaborative environment across multiple geos and functional teams.


PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

The person in this role must be comfortable with complex software development projects and be an innovative thinker capable of communicating multifaceted technical concepts. The candidate must have a track record of achieving goals and meeting deadlines on multi-team projects, and the ability to work in an aggressive, fast paced environment with evolving requirements..

REQUIRED SKILLS:

A minimum of 8 years hands-on experience on developing, testing, supporting and managing commercial software products.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience managing multiple teams of software professionals
Possess a strong understanding of the web services industry, highly scalable web servers and caching servers, REST and SOAP, etc.
Experience with leading SQL Servers such as Microsoft SQL Servers and Open Source SQL technologies.
Understand networking for example, routers, switches, load balancing, and the TCP/IP protocols including HTTP and DNS
Ideally have led or participated in the design and construction of a large scale Internet network including DNS, routing, etc., or design and implementation of a large scale distributed system or network measurement system
Broad and deep familiarity with agile development practices.
Fluent English oral and written communication
A minimum of BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering and eligible to work in China.
