A small, fast growing, top niche research and technology company located in New Brunswick, NJ, USA and Beijing, China specializing in challenging chemical and pharmaceutical intermediates and products of high commercial value, seeks a synthetic organic chemist with the ability to synthesize new and existing compounds and provide solutions to new and existing chemical manufacturing problems through the application of synthetic organic chemistry techniques.

Potential candidate will have academic or industrial experience in the design & synthesis of complex organic molecules coupled with a solid knowledge of modern separation methodologies and spectroscopic identification techniques.

He or she is a dynamic, energetic, responsible, dependable, proactive, positive, fast learning and highly motivated team player with diverse experiences, strong time management, organization skill, interpersonal skills and ability to participate effectively in multidisciplinary teams to solve problems in a fast pace environment.

Essential Function:
Responsible for synthesis of small molecules using manufacturing protocols, independently review suggested synthetic procedures and execute laboratory syntheses, adapting or modifying experimental methods to solve synthetic problems in existing manufacturing procedures, and critically analyze analytical chemistry data and interpret results.

Practice good laboratory practices (GLPs) , safety requirements , laboratory Standard Operating Practices (SOPs) , company policies and procedures.

Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, communicating product development strategies and efforts in relation to project goals to an audience of non-chemist colleagues.

Education:
BS, MS or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, or equivalent knowledge and experience in synthetic organic chemistry. Strong "hands-on" skills in organic synthesis are a must, as is the ability to communicate effectively with people in other disciplines. Experience at BS level is required and at PhD and MS level is a plus but not a requirement.

Experience:
Experience gained through obtaining a PhD or MS degree with minimum 1 years experience; or Bachelors degree with minimum 2 years of experience.
