General Job Scope:

· Participates in or conducts semi-routine technical analyses to design machine software, software applications or software tools that achieve desired functionality for a few products / systems / software applications

· Executes semi-routine software engineering / technical assignments that involve general analysis / programming

· Software developed or supported typically impacts some portions of products / projects / processes

· Develops or participates in the development of software engineering / technical solutions that meet established product specifications and functionality

· Solves or participates in the solution of assigned software engineering / technical problems using traditional engineering approaches

· May support the selection of software engineering / technical design solutions for assigned products or aspects of assigned products

· Decisions and actions may influence the work of other team members and a few processes or a few customer outcomes

· Infrequently participates in software project estimates.

Key Responsibility:

· Designs, codes, unit tests and debugs software; writes or participates in code documentation

· Participates in a few assigned tasks comprising software engineering design projects or assigned aspects of software engineering design projects from products / customer requirements to functional specifications to coding to unit testing and debugging to software acceptance and release

Job Requirement:

· Has advanced basic knowledge of / skills in one or more of the content areas of:

- Communications protocols

- Programming for embedded controlling devices

- Digital signal processors

- Microprocessors

- C, C++, C#, Java, J2EE, ASP, Flash, ActionScript, assembler programming languages

- SQL, Oracle, Informix, data warehousing- OBIEE

- Operating systems

- TCP/IP

- Customer-focused software applications development

- Software applications security

- Regulatory requirements as relates to software development

· Project management awareness and time management skills

· Typically has 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

· Has advanced basic proficiency in several relevant software engineering design processes
