Senior Game Designer
Job Summary
This position is for an experienced senior game designer. You can design systems, mobile game user interface, write and present new feature concepts, and write detailed game design documents. You are a passionate gamer and keep up with new games and innovative features. You can clearly define feature goals for other designers to work on. You can review game play and make constructive recommendations on user experience improvements, balance changes, as well as new feature ideas. You have comprehensive knowledge of the mobile market and you are familiar with free to play mechanics and monetization. You can judge the cost and benefit of feature proposals, write cost efficient design, and cut what is not needed. You can tell the difference between requirements and optional features. You can make games fun. You can craft an excellent user experience for the intended audience.
Responsibilities
- Design game systems and features
- Design mobile game user interface
- Write, present, and evaluate new game ideas
- Write and present new feature concepts
- Define clear feature design goals for other designers to work on
- Write comprehensive and detailed game design documents and presentations
- Review feature design documents, feature proposals, and new game proposals, and provide constructive feedback
- Balance combat game play, review combat balance
- Balance prices and economy, review prices and economy
- Review game play, notice tiny details, and recommend improvements
- Review analytics data for live games, help pinpoint weaknesses, and recommend improvements targeting those weaknesses
- Review player feedback and recommend improvements
- Participate constructively and lead design discussions
Requirements
- 7+ years game design experience
- 3+ years mobile game experience
- 2+ years free to play game experience
