Free to Play Designer, Monetisation Designer
JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a designer focused on monetisation for free-to-play games. You are passionate about free-to-play games and know how to make them succeed. You enjoy reviewing analytics data for key indicators about a game’s monetisation and retention. You can make insightful recommendations based on analytics reports and personally reviewing a game. You can create designs that drive any metric, including monetization, retention, and virality. You can write the design documents for your proposals. You have comprehensive knowledge of free to play games, free to play monetisation, and analytics metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review analytics reports to discover and solve problems.
- Review existing games and provide constructive feedback.
- Propose design improvements for monetisation and retention.
- Write design documentations for your proposals.
- Review and improve pricing and economic balance.
- Work closely with the analytic team, product lead, and lead designer to discover problems, pinpoint the problem’s source, and solve problems.
- Participate constructively in design meetings and discussions.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of free to play monetisation and metrics
- Aware of industry metrics benchmarks
- Strong knowledge of item pricing and economic game balance
- Broad knowledge of free-to-play and mobile games
- Able to forecast and analyse the effects of features and content changes
- Able to create design that drives any metrics, such as monetization, retention, and virality.
- Able to propose sensible strategies for which metrics to focus on to maximise ROI.
- Deep expertise in establishing, analyzing, and optimising funnels.
- Able to, on your own, “learn like crazy” to stay on top of, and improve, your knowledge
- Genuine interest in and passion for free to play games
- Conversational English
- Understanding of related fields such as salesmanship, psychology (at least cognitive biases), relationship marketing, and usability, is a big plus.
- Experience required
Minimum 3 years game design experience on free to play titles
