Description:
Zynga is looking for an experienced Senior Game Designer to work with large scale social games that runs on social networks. Qualified candidates will have experience on console and/or PC games and are fluent in game design practices and overall game development.
Responsibilities:
1. Create or adapt leading game features to work with an existing game
2. Pitch new ideas to the team/ hold brainstorming sessions
3. Tune and model complex systems using Excel
4. Write copy, names, and narrative elements of game
5. Analyze real-time feedback and metrics, and adjust game designs accordingly
6. Work with product managers, developers and artists to oversee the implementation of new features and systems
7. Ability to describe user experience stories and create wireframe screens and flows
8. Remain up-to-date with Game Design literature and best practices to be an evangelist for the craft of Game Design
Required Skills:
1. Experience or knowledge of traditional board game, card game, or dice game design
2. Expert with math and formulas in game environment
3. Experience designing combat and/or system mechanics including player control, moves, and NPC/AI types and behaviors
4. Strong knowledge of game balancing and pacing
5. Management experience, preferably with an experienced design team
6. Adept with Excel/spreadsheets
7. Passionate gamer
8. 2+ shipped games
9. Game programming background required
10. Fluent in spoken and written English a plus
11. Experience as a senior Designer preferable
