The successful candidate will be responsible for:



· Requirements analysis and embedded software architecture design

· Design, coding and unit testing of embedded software

· Integrated system test

· Write design documentation (architecture, module design, and detailed design)

· Support software release work

· Support transition from development test to manufacturing test



Essential:



· BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics

· 5 year + embedded software design experience

· English proficiency:

o Able to read and accurately understand technical materials written in English

o Able to write and communicate in English with engineers in US offices

· Solid programming experience in C and C++

· Solid experience with development of embedded software in embedded Linux, VxWorks, and other RTOS

· Practical experience with some industry standard software development methodologies and processes, including documentation control, source code control, change control, and defect tracking

· Understand hardware subsystems, interfaces and hardware debugging method



Desired:


· Object oriented programming experience

· IP Network protocols and technology

· Packet network time synchronization protocols, such as NTP and IEEE-1588

· Telecom protocols and technologies such as E1, T1, ATM, Frame Relay

· Network optimization for IPTV transmission

· Network quality of service

· SNMP

· Monta Vista Linux

· Wireless communication systems and networks

· Alarm handling, logging and reporting

· Network security protocols such as Radius and others

· FPGA development or interfacing
