Objective of job

• By 2015 the new NGCC versions will be introduced at the BBAC plant (Joint Venture of Daimler and BAIC) in Beijing, China. Currently under construction is also an engine plant as well as a center for research and development. Simultaneously the localization of Mercedes Benz vehicles and engine parts are further implemented. This increases the capacity comparable to the magnitude of the domestic German production capacity and therefore essentially contributes to the turnover of the Mercedes-Benz Car Group. Parallel to the start-up phases of the vehicle- and engine plants, and the factory expansion a central, compelling and effective program management (PM BBAC) is required. This program management functions as backbone for all project managers as well as for the strategic project leader “planning plant expansion BBAC” and directly reports to the strategic project leader of Production Planning- and BBAC-management. The PM BBAC steers the projects progress at Germany, and supports the team also locally in Beijing.

Qualification required

• Several years’ experience in the field of development, planning or production. Skills in the range of new-type planning, production planning as well as MDS-procedures, multi-project skills, team orientation, flexibility, interdisciplinary managing skills, power of persuasion, communication- and conflict-capable, soft skills, intercultural expertise for the Chinese market, fluent English skills.

Task designation

• In the central Program-Management You will be involved in the BBAC-projects and support the steering, coordination and communication of all following tasks:
• Coordination of all project related tasks concerning project progress, target dates, costs and communication acting in agreement with the strategic management.
• Planning, implementation and execution of a standardized committee- and project-organization for all projects in order to ensure an effective procedure, a project-wide alignment (vehicles, generator sets, infrastructure, logistics, localization & quality) targeted information from/in/about all projects, a transparent status as well as an integrated steering.
• Preparation, Implementation and documentation of overlapping project committees including tracking of target dates and counter measures.
• As the circumstances require preparations through project and committee management. Development, introduction and execution of standards, methods and processes for all project related support functions. Alignment and transfer of these methods and standards in agreement with the BBAC program management board. Development, introduction and execution of project-overarching reporting, operating numbers and an indicators system. Steering of the targeted and holistic process of project overarching experimental assignments concerning the impacts of new-type projects, planning and production. Steering of a holistic flow of information between the project-organization in Germany and China. Holistic capture and documentation of all “lessons learned” during the project.
