Responsibilities

Operations and Support:

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Provide other support per requests from customers. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted users.
Maintenance:
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications per project or operational needs.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

Qualifications

- A Bachelor Degree or above.
- Strong Linux skills with experience in different distros (CentOS, Redhat, Ubuntu, Fedora)
- General Linux/Shell scripting knowledge
- Knowledge in configuring and diagnosing linux networks with a good sense of security
- Experience in using monitoring systems such as Nagio
- Experience in identifying issues in a LAMP stack setup
- Excellent communication skills, including both verbal and written communications.

Bonus Qualifications

- Passionate about games
- Red Hat certifications a plus
- Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in UNIX/LINUXWorks
- Experience with optimizing LAMP environment
- Knowledge of MemCached
- Experience and deep understanding of the following technologies are desirable:
- LINUX Desktop environments, GNOME, VNC
- NFS and LINUX automounter
- LINUX scripting
