As a Buyer on the China Procurement team, you will be responsible for tactically supporting the Global and China Commodity teams to execute Tektronix' Supply Chain strategy by managing the supply stream for designated commodities.
This role includes:
1) Assuming tactical responsibilities for implementing and sustaining various replenishment programs such as Kanban, Just-In-Time (JIT), and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI),
2) Minimizing Tektronix' material liability though forecast and lead-time management, 3) Ensuring material availability while minimizing total cost through all facets of the product life cycle,
4) Negotiating with suppliers for favorable cost and material flexibility,
5) Participate on Commodity Team and Functional projects to improve productivity, remove waste, and increase customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements:
-Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Science area or equivalent.
-Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in a high technology manufacturing environment with experience in Production Procurement.
-Experience in plastic or machenical commodity purchasing is a plus.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills in the Purchasing functions including Outsourcing, OEM relationships, Commodity Management, Manufacturing and Operations, and in various Replenishment tools such as Kanban, VMI, and Consignment. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills with high proficiency in both English and Mandarin (both oral and written), a proven track record in inventory management, and be able to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. Preference will be given to those with demonstrated international experience, particularly in the US. Domestic and international travel required.
