Jointly established by the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Regional Knowledge Sharing Initiative (RKSI) is an ongoing program to facilitate the exchange of development-related knowledge among ADB’s developing member countries (DMCs). It draws primarily on the PRC’s experience in promoting rapid economic growth and social transformation over the past 40 years.
The social media coordinator will work for RKSI based in the ADB PRC Resident Mission (PRCM) in Beijing. The objective of the assignment is to improve, optimize, and grow the social media presence of RKSI. RKSI aims to better disseminate knowledge using multimedia products to enhance awareness of emerging development issues among the PRC and other ADB DMCs.
Scope of Work
The social media coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the social media strategy and publicity outreach of RKSI activities (events and products). These include creating contents (e.g., videos and designing graphics), analyzing data across platforms, researching the underlying algorithms, coordinating with ADB’s Department of Communications, and organizing paid publicity outreach. The social media coordinator is expected to work independently with limited supervision in all aspects of managing RKSI’s social media channels.?
Detailed Tasks and/or Expected Output
With oversight from the Head of RKSI based in ADB PRCM, the consultant will work closely with ADB HQ-based national officer in performing the following tasks:
?Create contents e.g., write and edit social media posts and blogs, design banners and infographics, produce videos, and other related tasks.
?Build campaigns and promote content with a clear grasp of social media algorithms to maximize content reach and engagement.
?Cover live events e.g., promote speakers and hashtags, take photos, and other related tasks.?
?Collaborate with partners in content creation and promotion.
?Use analytics in measuring performance of social media strategy e.g., set measurable goals for each channel and campaign, interpret results to optimize campaigns, report weekly, quarterly, and yearly.
?Set strategy e.g., align content with objectives of the project, coordinate content calendars with partners, and manage influencer and advocate programs.
?Perform other duties as may be required.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
?At least a bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, information technology, or related disciplines.
?Have at least 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in international organizations.
?Proven skills and demonstrable results in copywriting, design (graphics and video), community engagement, behavioral psychology, and analytics.
?Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Mandarin.
?Ability to remain up-to-date with the latest development and experimenting with new social media marketing strategies.
?Highly adaptable with ability to keep up with rapid changes in social media and learn the necessary skills e.g., graphic design, and video editing.
?Proficient in using video editing, photo editing, and graphic design software.
?Must have his or her own device and software to take and edit videos, photos, and graphics.
?Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and to work effectively and efficiently with individuals at various levels.
?Have good interpersonal skills, such as, understanding the needs of others, listening well, receptive to feedback, carrying out feedback, and explaining and advocating ideas.
?Strong learning ability and ability to propose innovative solutions.
?Ability to work effectively under stress, and ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
This is a short-term contractual position subject to extensions based on performance. Indicative salary is CNY10,000 to 20,000 per month.
