KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Duties
· Be punctual according to school routines and working day
· Be able to manage time effectively to support teacher
· Prioritizes and organises work for effective functioning of classroom
· Is in class at 8am/ 8.15am to support teacher
· Be punctual for playtime/lunchtime duties

Professional Responsibility
· Adheres to the school dress code
· Actively models BSB priority of social graces
· Recognizes health and safety hazards in the classroom and deals with them promptly
· Takes responsibility for preparing materials needed for ASA’s in due time
· Promotes and mediates games and socializing when on playground duties
· Acts upon advice given in order to improve performance
· Attends CPD opportunities

Bus Duties

i. Morning
TAs should ensure that they fill in the bus attendee’s book each morning and hand it in, together with the behaviour book to the School Service office upon arrival (before 9am at the latest). Whilst supervising pupils on the buses they should ensure that the attached guidelines are followed.

ii. Afternoon
All TAs should leave their respective classes/pupils and go to the school bus parking area promptly 15 min early before the school bus leaving time. Bus registers should be collected from School Service Office. No child should run to the buses. The TA should then remain on the bus whilst the other children arrive, again filling in the register. The TA should only leave the bus if there is an emergency situation that requires immediate attention. When the bus leaves the compound the TAs should follow the attached guidelines, and should particularly ensure that NO child leaves the bus unless written permission has been provide by the parents beforehand. There are no exceptions to this rule.
