Develop platform BIOS, reference code and related documentation for Intel silicon products such as next generation chipsets and processors. Responsible for authoring BIOS specifications, creating chipset reference code and developing / supporting platform BIOS for Intel's CPUs and chipsets. Work closely with Intel silicon design teams and be responsible for all software and BIOS related issues during the planning, development, and validation stages of the program.

Job Description (Persistent Memory BIOS Lead)

The Memory & Storage Products Group (MSPG) is Intel DPG's memory center of excellence, aspiring to deeply understand our customers' data-centric problems and solving them by re-architecting the memory/storage hierarchy around Intel Optane persistent memory.



Within PRC, we have established the PRC Persistent Memory Center of Excellence (PRC PMem CoE), a cross-functional customer marketing & engineering team positioned to solve customers' issues and develop globally relevant workload proof points, code bases and best known methods and apply these solutions to our customers businesses, in order to grow global market share and drive PRC to over a quarter of Intel's persistent memory revenue.



The PRC PMem CoE BIOS Lead is responsible for working with customers, persistent memory (PMEM) architecture and platform architecture to drive customer firmware requirements on the PMEM into server platform designs for Cloud Service Provider and OEM. Responsibilities include leading server product BIOS development for customer projects, authoring BIOS specifications. Work closely with Intel silicon architect and be responsible for software and Firmware related issues during the planning, development, and validation stages of the program.
Responsibilities include lead taskforce from OS kernel, System Validation and other Hardware teams for:

BIOS collateral release, sighting management.

New silicon feature solution design.

Server PMEM/platform power & performance enhancement.

Server PMEM/platform reliability/availability/serviceability enhancement.

Solving complicated silicon issue in large scale datacenter.



Qualifications:

You must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent with 5 + years of industry experience in firmware, software, debug or low-level software engineering. An advanced degree is preferred. Additional qualifications include:

Excellent problem-solving skills, comfortable with the use of software tools to diagnose and debug BIOS, firmware and software issues

Excellent knowledge of UEFI BIOS operations and interdependencies

Knowledge of C, C++, Python and/or other programming or scripting languages

Excellent communication (including spoken and written English) and customer support skills

Excellent knowledge on the MRC and memory related technology.

Strong interpersonal skills (with proven track record of cross group collaboration)

Deep knowledge of Intel X86 architecture (hardware, software, firmware) and Linux

Knowledge of motherboard and/or system manufacturing test process

Knowledge of DDRx memory, PCI-Express*, Smbus interface, CXL

Presentation skills and the ability understand, specify and communicate requirements to marketing and engineering teams

Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment and to achieve high quality results

Ability to international and domestic travel and Travel to customer facilities

Experience with IT manageability solutions would be an added advantage



The following qualifications would be added advantages:

Experience in Linux Kernel development

Experience in Server Validation/BIOS validation team.

Experience in memory controller design, memory RAS design and validation

Experience in the BMC development and validation.
