Salary: FSN-07 RMB 146, 090 p.a.

USEFM is FP-7 USD 45,337p.a. Actual salary will be determined by Washington D.C.

Summary: The U.S. Mission in Beijing is seeking one eligible and qualified applicant for the position of Administrative Assistant.

The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supervisory Position: NoDuties:


Under guidance from the Olympic Security Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant performs logistical and administrative duties as assigned. The Administrative Assistant serves as logistics contact within the Olympic Security Office and interact with the Beijing Olympic Committee and receives and conveys relevant information for the U.S. participation in the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The Administrative Assistant arranges logistical/administrative support for TDY personnel to China. This position liaises with the Embassy’s General Services Office (GSO) sections (Travel/Procurement/Shipping/etc.) to support TDY and VIP travel to China.


Qualifications and Evaluations

Education: Completion of college or universities is required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Must have 3 years of experience working in the logistics or services industries (travel, hotel, property rental, procurement or general administration) and comparable experience working directly with managers in these industries in China.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have some understanding of Chinese contracting/procurement/rental/leasing laws, customs, and practices. Must have knowledge of United States and local protocol practices.


Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in English is required. (This will be tested.)

Level IV (Fluent) speaking/reading/writing in Chinese is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills. Must be attentive to detail and able to respond to requests quickly and thoroughly. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to act effectively on short notice and when under significant stress. Must have experience in customer service, management, and instruction. Must be resourceful and able to find creative solutions to problems. Good computer skills, including competence in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook is required. Must exercise good judgment.


Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. ** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
