PURPOSE and SCOPE OF THE JOB

The Public Networking Officer is responsible for broadening Greenpeace supporters in mainland China and engaging them in online/offline activities that help to achieve Greenpeace environmental mission.

The post holder is line managed by the Head of Communications Unit and assumes responsibility in the development and execution of strategy to build and engage supporters in mainland China through online/offline channels.

The post holder will usually work in a team composed of campaign and communications staff and may be assigned to work in projects which involve other Greenpeace offices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Generate attractive content for Greenpeace

s own website in bilingual languages.

2.Implement effective public engagement strategies/actions both online and offline to support campaign goals.

3.Advise to campaign projects on their supporter and public engagement strategy.

4.Coordinate with communications and campaign staff to align with the supporter engagement strategy.

5.Be sensitive on new digital trend and social environment to build brand preference.

6.Liaise with other Greenpeace offices and Greenpeace International on issues related to responsible areas.

7.Support in social media content development and composition.

8. Work closely with others, including peers in other Greenpeace offices, to ensure coherence of public messaging, alignment with Greenpeace global identity and values, and adherence to Greenpeace global communications protocols and standards.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Bachelor degree or above in social science subjects. Graduate is welcome.

2. Knowledge of trends and opportunities in communication and social media.

3. Have good understanding on target audience and supporters

insight and behavior.

4. Proficient in Chinese and English writing skills.

5. Strong communication and coordination skills.

6. Commitment to the mission, principles and values of Greenpeace.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Skilled in video making and editing and graphic design.

2. Ability to work across a variety of issues, under pressure of deadlines and changing priorities.
