POSITION ROLE

The Quality engineer will work cross functionally, providing quality managing solutions; by the development and implementation of quality systems, controls and process improvement initiatives that support the manufacture of company products to meet international quality and engineering standards and specifications. The incumbent will also plan, develop, facilitate and coach technical training to production teams; as well as co-ordinate ongoing quality assurance activities in order to foster a service focused culture and ensure that safety, quality objectives and production achievements are met.

MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The Quality engineer will be responsible for:

1 Development and implementation of an integrated Quality Management and Environment Management System

2 Planning and scheming quality objectives and realization

3 Audit and analysis of testing and inspection procedures for deficiency identification and correction

4 Diagnosis and correction of improper quality control practices

5 Development and facilitation of quality training to production & office staff.

6 Consultation with customers regarding product and quality issues

7 Organizing quality improvement program.

8 Supporting and instruction supplier development and improvement.

9 Coordinate the task for testing and inspections.

10 Participate with new program introductions.

11 Monitoring and instruction for quality staff.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS (Skill Set)

The incumbent will be required to have the following skills, knowledge and attributes:

1 Demonstrated expertise in the planning, development and implementation of an integrated Quality Management System, and internal quality auditing and improvement programs for quality production within a manufacturing environment.

2 Proven ability to lead quality audits and system control inspection with teams of production staff.

3 Demonstrated experience in the design and development of technical and quality training to production line employees.

4 Understanding of the human factors and motivation of adult learners, and experience in providing quality training and coaching to diverse teams within a multicultural manufacturing environment.

5 Ability to work independently, taking initiative and capacity to work as a team member in a challenging and high energy team environment.

6 Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices and OHS principles.

7 Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills and the proven ability to research and provide practical advice to customers.

8 Good command of English for effective reading, writing (including reports) and oral communication.

9 Proven ability to consult and negotiate effectively with all levels of employees, government representatives, suppliers and customers.

10 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet deadlines and work under conflicting time pressures, exercise judgment, flexibility and clarity in prioritizing issues.

11 Strong customer service focus, combined with a pro-active 'can-do' attitude.

12 Competent in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, AutoCAD 2000 LT)

Essential

1 Recognized tertiary degree in Engineering, with a major in Quality managing.

2 At least five years' experience in a similar role as a Quality engineer preferably within an automobile/vehicle production environment in China.

3 Fluency in both Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

1 Workplace Training or Education Qualification

2 Membership of a professional institution in Engineering and/or Quality
