Position: Systems Functions Infotainment

Division / Department: Volkswagen China Passenger Cars Brand / Technical Development VW

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

• The development timeline and progress are tracked and status on development progress is continuously reported

• Technical development of the system is led and its final approval ensured

• Alignment with all involved parties is ensured so that the system is delivered according to the specification and VW standards

• Support in test specification is provided and system testing is conducted in order to ensure readiness

• Release is delivered and system release notes are created

• Risk analysis is performed, the safety requirements are added into the technical specification and the Technical Project Lead is informed accordingly

• Systems are defined according to the evaluated requirements

• The technical and functional specification are created based on the market-specific product requests and the already existing global standard to ensure technical feasibility and compatibility with the market

• Activities regarding change request process, e.g. CR definition are and conducted

Your Responsibilities:

• Track the development timeline and progress and ensure status reporting.

• Architecture and backend system are designed according to China-specific requirements and rollout (incl. mechanical, electrical and software sub-systems) is ensured.

• Develop, maintain and release the ECU data files containing all the relevant diagnostic data required by VW specifications.

• Ensure the technical development of the infotainment system.

• Develop and implement the system security functions in head unit and integrate into the vehicle systems to ensure their SOPs.

• Perform technical feasibility evaluation of defined customer-oriented product requirements in product request.

• Support in defining technical product requirements (TPB) in compliance with China-specific legal regulations and customer needs.

• Align with all involved parties to ensure the infotainment system is delivered according to the specification and VW standards.

• Provide support in test specification; conduct testing to ensure the system readiness.

• Support in delivery of release and create system release notes.

• Perform risk analysis, add the safety requirements into the technical specification and inform the Technical
  Project Lead accordingly.
• Support in defining infotainment system according to the evaluated requirements.
• Conduct activities regarding change request process, e.g. CR definition.
• Conduct continuous research on market, competitors and trends from a technical perspective to ensure state-of-the-art product/ service development.

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

• Master or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, communications, computing or similar

Personal skills:

• Advanced skills in communication
• Ability to solve problems
• Self-organized and -motivated way of working

Working experience (in years):

• Minimum 3 years of work experience in the field of automotive infotainment and customer frontends or similar
• Experience in the field of infotainment system development preferred (e.g. BAP Diagnosis, Cluster Instrument/ AR-HUD, Security, System Architecture, Power Management)
• Deep knowledge and technical understanding of in-car system architecture/ development for electrical or mechanical systems, parametrization, coding of ECUs/ power distribution and layout/ security/ infotainment instruments/ Augmented Reality/ Head Up Displays
• Knowledge of software/ hardware development for embedded systems
• Experience in the specification and development of complex electronic functions and systems

Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

• Excellent language skills in English (written and oral) mandatory
• German language skills highly appreciated
• Chinese language skills appreciated
