Job Description:

Compuware is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic engineer to join our software development team. As a principal contributor on a small and agile team of software engineers, you will be jointly responsible for building new releases of our end-user recording application, written in JavaScript and running as a Chrome packaged application. This application allows customers to record their actions on a website, generating a script that can be played back locally or uploaded to our SaaS framework and run from over 100,000 locations around the world, collecting metrics on network and client side performance. In addition, you will help define and implement new features on our core agent technology, ensuring that is usable and accessible to our customers.

Prior exposure to Chrome development is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

This position encompasses a wide range of software engineering responsibilities including:

• Responsible for technical design and implementation of Gomez Recorder application
• Produce effective software development plan, design specification and technical documentation

· Contribute at all levels to Gomez Recorder technology: architecture, development, maintenance, unit testing, deployment, mentoring new engineers and customer support

· Work with QA team to develop test plans and strategies

• Provide support for business partners, product management and the SaaS production operations teams

· Become an authority on web performance.

Qualifications:

· Required Skills and Competencies:

o 3+ years of software development experience

o Demonstrated ability to build, ship and maintain commercial products

o Strong Javascript programming skills

o Experience with client side rich Internet technologies such as SproutCore, Cappuccino, extJS, JQuery, GWT, etc.

o Experience with W3C standards, including CSS 3

o Good experience with UI development

o Solid understanding of browser technology/capabilities and HTML5 features

o Solid understanding of networking and HTTP

o Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

· Desired Technical Skills:

o Experience developing Chrome browser extensions and/or using Chrome API

o Mozilla/Firefox/XulRunner, SproutCore, and/or Selenium development experience

o Experience working with mobile browsers and mobile web applications
