Position: Senior Program Manager_CAT

Location: Shanghai, Beijing

To align with Microsoft’s “digital transformation” strategy, CAT team’s mission and focus is on Accelerating the Adoption of public, and hybrid cloud solutions based upon Microsoft Azure intelligent cloud platform and technologies - providing architecture design pattern, guidance, recommendations and product best practice to customers and solution partners, Serving The Engineering - helping engineering component teams to understand customer scenarios, requirements, hot topics, key issues and opportunities for new features and functionality, and Ecosystem Enablement – creating technical best practice blogs, whitepapers, books and other materials and delivering through various channels (i.e. marketplace, media, workshop, conference) that help nourish internal & external ecosystem technical readiness.



We are looking for an individual who is passionate about cloud computing (Public, Hybrid), has deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Azure platform & its’ IaaS/PaaS workloads and is comfortable engaging with customers and communicating with senior executives and technical architects, clearly able to discuss and present technical solutions to business problems. To be successful in this challenging position, you must be able to combine both technical depth and experience with business and strategic thinking, customer focusing, exceptional cross-group collaboration and effective communication and presentation skills.



The job position is expected to be based in China and will report to CAT PM Manager located in Shanghai. You will be a self-starter, comfortable working remotely from your team / from your line manager and be willing to travel to locations across country at least 30`40% of the time. You should also expect to travel to and attend meetings and events in the United States at least once per year.



Knowledge, Skills and Experience



1)Essential Experience

Strong matrix-management skills and the ability to deal effectively in ambiguous and dynamic environments are a basic requirement. The ability to work proactively across different internal groups and have positive influence with various internal and external contacts is also critical to this position.



2)Technical/Functional Skills

The ideal candidate will have detailed technical knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure public cloud platform and technology and will be able to clearly articulate how to leverage these technologies to build a private, hybrid and service provider (hosted) cloud solution.



3)Personal Attributes/Interpersonal Skills

Great communication and presentation skills. Fast learning, passionate about technology and in driving for results. Self-driven and self-motivated, ability/willingness to travel extensively (30-40% of the time).



4)Qualifications

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Outstanding collaboration skills in order to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.

Strong leadership skills to influence and drive change in our product strategies and roadmap

Deep technical knowledge in Windows Server, System Center and the Windows Azure Pack

Experience architecting cloud solutions and/or a strong consulting background

Understanding of Virtualization, Systems Management, Private / Public Cloud technologies including all layers of the Cloud stack (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) a PLUS

Must be able to distill complex requirements into actionable feedback to key stakeholders

5+ years’ experience as a program manager, technical architect or similar role

3+ years’ experience with Cloud-based technologies

Bachelor/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

Special Requirements/Additional Information e.g. Language Skills

Windows Server, System Center and Windows Azure Stack

Software development skills (especially) in PowerShell are an advantage

Open source experience of cloud service development and/or solution architecture

Effective communication skills in Chinese and English languages
