Position: Vehicle Integration

Division/Department: VGC R&D Technology Asia / Group R&D

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

The core mission of this position is to integrate electrical modules for self-driving systems such as cameras, radars and other sensors into designated vehicles in R&D projects. The ultimate objective is to develop a product for series production. Thus, the quality of the integration of these modules shall be oriented towards series production quality. It will be important that the position has expertise in body structures, vehicle closures, chassis or similar fields. The contribution of this position will be essential to deliver a robust system from concept through an eventual production launch.

Your Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the Group R&D department of Volkswagen Group China. Furthermore, it holds the responsibility to align with relevant stakeholders.

？ Integrate electrical modules for self-driving systems such as cameras, radars and other sensors, antennae, displays etc.

？ Develop test cases to validate hardware integration (testing of circuit boards, cameras, lidar, radar, micro controllers etc.)

？ Develop series production concepts for the integration of electrical modules

？ Develop engineering requirements at system and subsystem levels (both hardware and software) as well as interactions among the system and subsystems

？ Debug electrical systems, resolve issues in the field, and support vehicle platform build activities

？ Concept, optimize and release structural components for mounting vehicle hardware

？ Engage with software and hardware engineers of the autonomous driving / parking project team and external partners

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

？ Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Personal skills:

？ Deep understanding of how to build and integrate systems with multiple technology components

？ Experience with writing software (e.g. SysML, Model Based, C code, etc.)

？ Deep understanding of system architecture

？ Excellent communication skills (written, oral and visual)

？ Proven track record of delivery from concept to launch

？ Ability to think outside-the-box in high pressure situation.

Working experience (in years):

？ +5 years Bachelor / +3 Master of relevant work experience with, for instance, signal distributing systems

？ Proven experience in the automotive industry with vehicle ECUs, CAN, LIN, Flexray, GMSL, FPDLink, power distribution, etc.

？ Experience in body structures, vehicle closures, chassis or similar fields

？ Experience with computer vision, machine learning, deep learning is preferred

？ Chinese fluent

？ Optional / preferred: German fluent
