Position: Intelligent Connected Vehicle R&D Project Management Office

Division/Department: VGC R&D Technology Asia / Group R&D

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

The core mission of this position is to set up and run an effective PMO for autonomous driving / ICV in region China with an R&D focus. Due to the increasing responsibility of the region in functional development of AD functions the collaboration between entities (VW, Audi, JVs etc.) becomes evermore important. The alignment between R&D departments in China and with HQ on technical ICV activities is required for an efficient cooperation. All R&D activities should be in line with the overall R&D strategy for the future field of autonomous driving / ICV. The objectives are to track and steer the timeline and budget of projects, document their progress accordingly and to communicate it in an appropriate way.  The position contributes to the corporate function of Group R&D by facilitating decision making, information sharing and joined development.

Your Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the Group R&D department of Volkswagen Group China. The position is managing multiple stakeholders in China and Germany. He/ She takes on task to coordinate R&D activities at VW, Audi and JVs. Therefore, the position holds the responsibility to align with relevant stakeholders.

？ Track and steer the timeline and budget of projects, document their progress accordingly and to communicate it in an appropriate way

？ Install a central contact person for stakeholders in China and at HQ for R&D and overarching ICV related issues

？ Prepare a communication plan and manage multiple stakeholders (incl. VGC, brands, Joint Ventures and HQ)

？ Manage topic back log and tracking tools including required prioritization / focus on topics of Group R&D and ICV in China

？ Prepare status reports for upper management, report on critical issues / job stoppers, and develop approaches to solve issues

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

？ Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Management or equivalent

Personal skills:

？ Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

？ Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

？ Outstanding organization, communication (verbal, written and visual) and collaboration skills

？ Detail oriented personality and interest in continuous learning/improvement

Working experience (in years):

？ +4 years (Bachelor) / +2 (Master) of relevant work experience

？ Proven experience with multi project management in an automotive field

？ Proven expertise in closely working together with cross-business and cross- entity stakeholders

？ Experience with autonomous vehicle or advanced driver assist system development such as lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, etc. preferred

？ Experience with the Volkswagen organization especially R&D departments including core processes preferred

Remarks (Language, IT Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

？ Proficiency in MS Office and other project management related tools
