Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
· Support the integrated planning and performance management processes across the China E&P portfolio, including development of long term plan, annual business plan, performance measures, performance reporting, action tracking, preparation of materials for leadership team meetings and performance reviews as required.
· Communicate with operator's finance team to conduct systematic analysis on work program and budget, JIBs, and cash calls.
· Provide assurance and identify issues to management to better protect BP's value, including participating in joint venture audit.
· Establish, maintain and monitor internal control processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information. Manage risks to financial reporting integrity, including BSI, local and tax reporting in compliance with laws and regulations.
· Skilful application of Group Reporting Manual and can independently interpret and apply group accounting policies to accurately reflect business activities.
· Familiar with financial statement close processes to ensure all group required financial data are prepared in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and reconciled to US GAAP when applicable.
· Lead and actively assist when necessary on annual statutory audit, annual tax filing and ad hoc tax audit.
· Proactively involve and provide financial reporting and internal control support to projects in business development stage, and provide financial control and accounting process advice to technical teams.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with operators, technical teams, Region, Tax and other internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited university
Sound knowledge and experiences on accounting, financial reporting and internal control.
- Strong team player with ability to interact and build strong relationships and networks with at all stakeholders including senior leaders internally and externally.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, and manage multiple/conflicting priorities with a strong track record of delivery.
- Commitment to deliver high quality output and process improvement.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in energy sector.
- Internationally recognized accounting certificate is preferred.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin in both written and verbal communications.
Understanding of BP organizational structure, inter-relationship between assets, Functions, Projects and Operations and decision making processes.
- Demonstrated team working skills.
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical mindset.
