The Hague University China Representative &

Senior Marketing Communications Officer (1 FTE)


Edvance Education International is an international consultancy firm, based in Beijing, promoting and facilitating international cooperation and exchange in higher education between China and Europe. Edvance is the representative in China for The Hague University, responsible for THU's marketing and recruitment in China, strengthening its academic cooperation and exchange, and managing alumni relations.


Edvance and THU are currently recruiting a full-time member of staff, to be employed by Edvance at its Beijing office. The new staff member will combine the functions of The Hague University China Representative for 0,5 FTE as well as Edvance's Senior Marketing Communications Officer for 0,5 FTE. The staff will report to the Director of Edvance and to the Senior Recruiting Officer (SRO) of The Hague University of Applied Sciences.


Job description

A. The Hague University China Representative (0,5 FTE)


Specific Duties


1. The THU representative will act as the local liaison between management and academies of The Hague University and THU's Chinese counterparts and partner universities. (S)he will provide support and advise to THU academies undertaking activities in China. In addition the representative will provide support to exchange students going to or from The Hague University


2. The representative will manage and coordinate the recruitment of Chinese students for programmes at THU in cooperation with Edvance's network of licensed Chinese recruitment agents.


3. Set up and maintain an alumni network for The Hague University.


4. Screening and meeting potential students for The Hague University, with an emphasis on potential master students; meeting with and providing information to parents of potential students of The Hague University.


5. Maintain THU's Chinese language website and Sina Weibo account.


B. Edvance Senior Marketing Communications Officer (0,5 FTE)

Specific Duties


Edvance and Fudan University in Shanghai jointly operate the Contemporary China Studies Programme (CCSP), a high-quality study-abroad semester programme for senior undergraduate students from European universities. Edvance is also developing new study-in-China programmes for the European market, including language programmes and summer courses. Students are recruited via a network of recruitment agents and universities in Europe. The senior marketing communications officer will be responsible for the development of these programmes, manage relations with the various counterparts in China and Europe and oversee marketing and recruitment activities for these programmes.


Requirements


Interested candidates must be in possession of the following qualifications:

1 Have an academic degree - preferably a Masters degree - from a European - preferably Dutch - university

2 At least three years of relevant working experience in the area internationalization in higher education and/or Sino European academic relations

3 Fluent in English, working knowledge of Dutch is considered an asset

4 Excellent communicative and social skills towards European and Chinese customers

5 Be familiar with higher education in Europe

6 Excellent computer skills

7 Be entrepreneurial, result-oriented, flexible and creative.

8 Be a team player, who can work independently

9 Willing to work flexible working hours
