JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Based at EXFO's Beijing office, you will be working directly with the Marketing-Communications Translation Coordinator, located at the head office in Canada and will also interact with a Marketing Manager and Chinese translator in Beijing.
In collaboration with this team, your main responsibility will consist of ensuring the graphic production (layout) of translated marketing, technical and promotional documents. You will mostly work on projects such as promotional brochures, catalogs, technical documents, newsletters, Web banners (some animated), presentations, promotional e-mails, advertisements, posters, tradeshow booth structures, mostly based on existing graphic templates.

Main tasks are as follows:
? Produce all steps in the graphical process; i.e., sketches, photo research and retouching, text and graphics layout
? Ensure document updates, website posting and preparation for printing, as needed
? Work with a multidisciplinary team in China and Canada to produce quality communication tools, in collaboration with project managers and a senior graphic designer
? Propose innovative graphic solutions
? Apply corporate graphics standards

On occasion, you will also be required to produce original concepts for material produced directly in Chinese.
When needed, you may be asked to perform any other task related to your position.

MAIN SKILLS:
? Excellent knowledge of the Adobe CS4 suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash) or DreamWeaver (in a Mac environment)
? Thorough knowledge of appropriate layout techniques for printed, audio-visual and electronic materials
? Familiar with printing processes and techniques
? Aware of new trends in graphic design and communications
? Knowledge of web-based (HTML, Java Script, .NET) and multimedia production will be considered a great asset

ACADEMIC AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
? Education: Diploma in graphic communications (equivalence accepted)
? Language requirements: Ability to communicate well in English and Simplified Chinese (written and oral).
? Experience: At least two years' experience in an agency (projects in business-to-business communications considered an asset).
? Portfolio demonstrating creative ability: Required for candidates selected for interview.
