1. Optimize the profitability of the department to meet or exceed budget.
2. Responsible for selection, training, development and performance management for a team of clinical operations staff i.e. CTAs, CRAs and Managers.
3. Track and assess staff allocation, work in progress and time versus budget within the department.
4. Ensure that clinical operations staff and teams maintain effective communication and working relationships with all other departments.
5. Work with relevant line managers to ensure that any study, staff or communication issues are accurately and promptly escalated and resolved.
6. Review and approve monthly reports, expenses, finances and invoices according to the approvals matrix and company approval procedures.
7. Ensure that clinical operations staff work to the highest standard in compliance with current SOPs, relevant guidelines/policies and regulatory requirements.
8. Ensure that along with the study teams that clinical operations staff work according to the schedules and timetables established by the Sponsor for the conduct and completion of the studies.
9. Liaise with Clinical Operations management at other locations and the Vice President, Clinical Operations to identify and implement opportunities for standardization of process and increased efficiency within and between departments.
10. Perform other duties / initiatives as required by the Department or Company.
