Technical Support Specialist

Currently we have opportunities for one (1) Technical Support Specialist in our China Technical Team based at Shanghai. The team provides experimentation and development coordination on our and our customers’ products in our laboratories, external research facilities, and customers’ sites. The focus of this team is on borate chemistry in the areas of 1) glass and traditional ceramics, 2) agriculture fertilizers, 3) boron-contained chemicals, and 4) wood preservative.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a Technical Support Specialist to fully support location health, safety and environmental programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs.
What the role entails
This role is a great opportunity for a successful individual to focus on China BSG, IFG and TFT glass manufacturers to provide technical service under guidance of technical professionals. Working and reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be:
Design/outsource experiments and analyse data contributing to the success of development projects, summarize findings and make logical interpretation/recommendation, prepare complete technical document as sales tool or research accumulation.
Providing support for development/research projects in China and other areas of the company to gain broader knowledge and be responsible for making recommendations on the feasibility of projects based on findings and experience.
Assisting with publication and/or revision of literature on company products and applications
Assisting with new business development in APAC region, requiring travel within and outside China
What you will need for this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
？Master’s degree or above and strong theoretical knowledge in chemistry, materials orengineering, and at least two-year experiences in industrial fields.
？Technical experience, preferably in a laboratory setting in at least one of the following: 1)inorganic chemistry; or 2) high temperature physical and chemical processing such assintering, glass forming, smelting; or 3) agriculture chemicals. The knowledge andexperience on boron-silicon glass science and industrial production procedure is anadvantage.
？Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese and Administrativeskills to document data and daily work activities
？Ability to work in teams and to collaborate within the group for problem solving andcommunication of project and safety issues
？Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet applications
